Guelph man charged with murder after missing person found dead

A Guelph man is charged with murder and committing an indignity to a dead body after police recovered human remains in a greenspace off Carrington Place on Feb. 1. 

Investigation has confirmed they are the remains of a 62-year-old Guelph man, Mike Galizzi, who was last seen downtown the morning of December 6 and was reported missing two days later.

On Friday, a 27-year-old Guelph man was arrested for second-degree murder and committing an indignity to a human body. The accused and the victim were known to each other.

The accused will appear in a Guelph bail court Saturday.
