No injuries as fire destroys two tents in weekend encampment fire

Nobody was hurt after a non-suspicious encampment fire near Wellington and Neeve Street Sunday night.

A tent encampment near Downtown Guelph has been destroyed after a fire Sunday night.

Guelph police said multiple 911 calls came in just before 9 p.m. Police and fire crews were dispatched to two tents set up in a park near Wellington and Neeve Street.

Nobody was at the encampment at the time, so no injuries were reported.

Due to the extent of the damage, a cause could not be determined.

The fire is not considered suspicious.
