On May 19, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Fourth Line, north of Highway 7. It was reported that a white pickup truck had left the roadway and that the single occupant was seriously injured.
OPP, Guelph/Eramosa Fire and Emergency Services Department and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Service attend the scene however the driver, a 32-year-old from Lakehurst, was pronounced deceased at scene.
Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team attended the scene and is assisting with the investigation. The office of the Chief Coroner was notified and attended the scene. The cause of the collision is still under investigation and anyone with information related to it is asked to call 1-888-310-1122.
