OPP seize pot, edibles during traffic stop

On March 23, 2020 at approximately 7:45 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a motor vehicle on Silvercreek Parkway near Dawson Road for a Highway Traffic Act violation.

While speaking with the driver, the officer detected a strong odour of fresh marijuana inside the vehicle. As a result, a quantity of dried bud marijuana and edibles were seized.

John Timonthy Johnson, 62 years old of Guelph has been charged with possession of dried marijuana over 30 grams in a public place.

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice, Guelph on May 19, 2020 to answer to the charge.
