Guelph police are investigating two commercial break-ins believed to be related.

Saturday morning, police were called to a business on Silvercreek Parkway North at Woodlawn Road West. Staff had arrived to find a glass front door smashed. While it is not believed the suspect gained entry, damage was estimated at approximately $5,000.

Just after 1 p.m. Saturday, police were called to a second business a short distance away. A side door had been pried open and a quantity of cash removed from the business. Based on surveillance video, police believe the same man is responsible for both crimes.

The man was described as wearing a light-coloured sweater with a hood, light pants, dark running shoes and gloves. He arrived in a dark-coloured SUV.
