A Kitchener man faces impaired and stunt driving charges following a traffic stop in Guelph Thursday night.
Just before midnight, police were conducting speed enforcement on Woodlawn Road West when they clocked a vehicle travelling 106 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped and the officer immediately detected an odour of alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath.
The driver failed a roadside breath test and was taken to the police station, where further testing indicated he had more than twice the legal amount of alcohol in his system.
A 30-year-old is charged with impaired operation and stunt driving. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
