Cambridge man accused of driving twice the speed limit

TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH - On Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at approximately 3:30 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 34, near Cambridge. The officer observed a male driving a black sedan at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 60 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 120 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by at least 60 km/h.

Twenty-six-year-old Michael Johnathan Addesso of Cambridge has been charged with racing a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on Sept. 5, 2018. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
