Weapons charges laid after male arrested on outstanding warrants

A Guelph male faces weapons charges after he was arrested Tuesday on outstanding warrants.

Approximately 2:40 p.m., officers on routine patrol saw a male near City Hall who they believed to be wanted. Investigation confirmed outstanding warrants for two counts each of possessing stolen property over $5,000 and breach of probation.

The male was arrested and during a search incident to arrest officers discovered an expandable baton.

A 28-year-old Guelph male is further charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon contrary to a prohibition order. He will appear in a Guelph court Feb. 15.
