Ontario Youth Championships (OYJ) is a provincial meet that is the stepping stone to the Ontario Swimming Championships. This past weekend the Guelph Marlins sent 24 qualified swimmers to join 87 other clubs and approximately 1000 swimmers from all over the province. At the end of the weekend, results have the Guelph Marlins celebrating with 7th place in Ontario overall out of all the teams that participated.
Great achievements were seen by swimmers with some best times, more OYJ qualifying swims, and some Eastern Nationals Qualifying times.
Thomas Steele and Zach de la merced made their first Eastern National Times.
Sydney Conrad was the 16&Over Female High Point overall winner.
The next meet for the Marlins is the Victor Davis Invitational Long Course meet March 26 -29th held at the Victor Davis Pool in Guelph. Following, some Marlins will be heading to the Easterns Canadian Championships April 16 – 19th.
