Water polo is an exhilarating sport that incorporates swimming agility with the exciting teamplay of a ball sport. Players learn how to pass, make offensive plays, defend, and goal keep all while swimming in deep water. It is easy to learn and highly rewarding.
This sport is a fantastic way for people of all ages to build strength, confidence, and a strong team spirit. Guelph Water Polo Club offers opportunities for kids starting at age 6 all the way through high school as well as an adult team. The only pre-requisite is that players must be independent swimmers.
Recreational and Competitive Opportunities
Guelph Water Polo Club offers both recreational and competitive programs for youth. They aim to be inclusive and invite as many people as possible to come out to learn this great sport.
The recreational program at Guelph Water Polo Club practices a couple of times a week at the University of Guelph and Victor Davis pools. High performance players in the competitive program can expect more frequent practices as well as opportunities to travel across the province and the country for competitions.
High Quality Coaching
The coaching staff at Guelph Water Polo Club are passionate about their sport. Coaches include past and present athletes who have represented Guelph at both provincial and national championships. Some have also competed as members of Canada’s Youth National Team.

Registration for the Guelph Water Polo Club’s 2022-2023 season has begun. The season runs from September until the end of April. Fees start at $500 per 4 month session and member siblings receive a 10% discount. The club also offers a $50 month-long trial for first time players.
