VIDEO: What's Your Dish - A family favourite from Eric the Baker

Eric the Baker cooks up an old family recipe - Gâteau Basque

Eric the Baker grew up around food; his grandmother opened one of the first bakeries in Toronto, on Yonge Street. He has continued his family tradition with Eric the Baker bakery located at 46 Carden St.

Today Eric makes us some Gâteau Basque; the name is French and means simply "Basque Cake". In the Basque language the cake is called "Etxeko biskotxa" or "cake of the house".
