Police and fire crews search Speed River area this morning

Part of an 'article search related to an ongoing investigation'

Guelph police and fire crews were searching the Speed River area near downtown Wednesday morning as part of an ongoing investigation.

Just after 11 a.m. on they launched a fire services boat into the water with three fire services personnel on board.

There were about 10 police and fire crew on the scene. Two firetrucks and two other fire services vehicles parked nearby.

"At this point we're conducting an article search related to an ongoing investigation," police spokesperson Scott Tracey said via email.
