About Rainbow Day Camp
Rainbow Programmes for Children operates the summer recreation program, Rainbow Day Camp, summer fun for everyone! Since 1973, this accredited, inclusive, not-for-profit, charitable organization has been providing quality summer programming for campers of all abilities between the ages of 4 – 21. Camp sessions operate at the University of Guelph during July and August and are known for their caring and open environment which embraces diversity and encourages personal growth, according to each individual’s uniqueness, strengths, needs and abilities.
For 45 years, Guelph’s Rainbow Day Camp has been welcoming kids of all abilities for a week of summer fun, games and activities. That’s thousands of campers, roughly two hundred leaders-in-training and hundreds of camp counsellors.
“Years after their camp experience, people remember the relationships most of all,” says camp administrator, Jennifer Harrison, “I don’t know how we do it year after year but that Rainbow Magic really makes campers and counsellors feel at home. This camp brings out the very best in people.
Our full day, week-long sessions include the following programs:
Campers are involved in all kinds of activities including a DAILY SWIM, arts & crafts, music & singing, drama, active games, science, cooking, and a host of special events that coordinate with our theme weeks!
