GuelphToday received the following letter from Sian Matwey about Guelph Transit's community bus service.

Dear Editor

As someone who spends a lot of time on Guelph Transit supporting the most vulnerable in Guelph I thought you'd like to learn more about a little known service called the community bus.

This bus takes you a little longer to get you where you are going but it's time well spent!

My one client lives in the south end and it takes me three buses to get to his home, hoping and praying that I don't miss my connections and be left standing in the cold and late for work. To avoid this problem I now walk 10 minutes to catch the community bus and then enjoy a peaceful and stress-free ride!

This bus is also great if you miss the #8 bus to Stone Road Mall and only takes an extra 5 minutes.

Here are some other positive facts about the community bus:

- This bus is perfect for seniors since it stops at the front door of various buildings, including shopping centres, medical buildings and retirement homes.

- Passengers can flag down the community bus along its route whether standing at a bus stop or not.

- Passengers are also allowed to request a stop at existing bus stops or locations along the route of the community bus.

- Service is available Monday to Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.(For full route descriptions please visit:. https://guelph.ca/living/getting-around/bus/schedules/community-bus-service/ ).

Please take a moment to share this letter and then hop on the Community Bus this Christmas Season and Enjoy the ride.
