It's time to build the much-needed library – for all the right reasons.
The leadership that Guelph City Council has shown – through their support of aggressive approaches to fight climate change – will put this project in the forefront of a climate legacy for decades and generations to come.
By acknowledging a climate emergency, embodying 100 per cent renewable energy and net zero carbon into this project, council has provided us with a shining example of the energy transition that we must pursue throughout our community.
The library is not only a fundamental cultural, educational and social hub for our city – but a beacon of guidance in our fight against climate change.I look forward to the standard that the new library will create for all of us to emulate and improve upon.
