Argument about 'pet litter' leads to assault charges in Erin

Police say the arguement escalated and one person is facing an assault with a weapon charge as well as uttering threats

On May 8, 2023, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance call on Credit River Road, Erin. It was reported that two residents had been involved in a heated argument over pet littering and that it escalated into an assault. 

As a result, [a 60-year-old from Erin] has been charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of justice - Guelph on July 7, 2023.
