Average price of a home sold in Guelph in 2019 tops $535,000

More than double what the average price was in 2009

The average price of a home sold in the City of Guelph in 2019 was $535,778.

That’s up 6.4 per cent over 2018 and more than double what the average price a home sold for in 2009, according to the annual Guelph Residential Market Activity and MLS Home Price Index Report prepared by the Canadian Real Estate Association.

The average price of a Guelph townhouse was $462,312.

The median time it took to sell a house was 14 days, meaning half the houses took longer to sell and half sold quicker.

There were 3,057 new residential listings in Guelph in 2019.

Of those listings, 2,194 residential properties sold with a value of $1.18 billion.

The average prices of residential homes sold in various Centre Wellington communities was:

- Fergus: 253 properties sold at an average price of $522,569.

- Elora/Salem: 116 properties at an average price of $666,549.

- Rockwood: 81 properties at an average price of $686,288.

- Puslinch: 65 properties at an average price of $999,255.
