The stage is set in the idyllic backyard of McCrae House for the premiere of McCrae in the Mirror, a new one-man show written and performed by Mike Ford.

The show examines McCrae’s life of service and the reverberations of the Great War, while contemplating sense of duty in a contemporary context.

Mike Ford is a renowned franco-Ontarian singer-songwriter, playwright, and educator best known for his endeavors with Moxy Früvous and Troubadour concerts. He has a long and celebrated history with Guelph Museums, bringing his Sons of ’17 show to Backyard Theatre in 2016 and 2020, and writing and performing in the Museum-commissioned John Galt and the Instant City show, first presented in 2018.

McCrae in the Mirror runs from July 21 to 30, with shows Thursday through Saturday at 7 pm, and matinees on Saturday at 2 pm. Tickets are available at www.guelphmuseums.ca
