Charge laid after school broken into

Man was arrested a short distance away with property belonging to school staff

A Guelph man faces charges after reportedly breaking into a downtown school Saturday.

Just after 3:30 p.m. police were notified of a man who had gained access to the school. As officers arrived they saw the male leaving the school and were able to stop him a short distance away. Property belonging to school staff was recovered.

A 43-year-old man is charged with break and enter, possessing stolen property and breaching probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
