The city has decided to run a shuttle service from the public lot on Elizabeth Street to Downtown Guelph.

The shuttle will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. The start date for the service has not yet been announced. It will run from the Elizabeth Street lot to the front of Old Quebec Street mall.

The unexpected closure of the West Parkade for the summer has added to an already difficult parking situation in Downtown Guelph.

The city announced earlier that it will be allowing free parking in all downtown city lots on evenings and weekend for the summer.

The city is also converting underused permit parking on Surrey Street East between Wyndham Street South and Gordon Street to public parking.
