Air ambulance called after collision closes section of 124

Wellington Road 124 was closed east of Guelph but has since reopened

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Ornge Air Ambulance was called to the scene of a serious two-vehicle collision Monday afternoon just east of Guelph, airlifting one person to hospital.

A section of Wellington Road 124 was closed for roughly an hour after the collision involving an SUV and a sedan near the intersection of Wellington Road 124 and 4th Line, roughly four kilometres east of Guelph.

The road has since reopened.

OPP confirmed there had been a collision but few details were immediately available.

On Twitter, Wellington OPP stated two drivers were taken to hospital, one local and another a trauma centre with non-life threatening injuries, after the two-vehicle collision earlier Monday afternoon.

The County of Wellington sent out a notice at 1:40 p.m. saying Wellington Road 124 was closed between Wellington Road 29 and Wellington Road 27 in the Township of Guelph-Eramosa as of 1:15 p.m.
