DIXON'S DISTILLED SPIRITS
*************************
Dixon’s Distilled Spirits is hosting a live half-hour Instagram Q&A event on Saturday, May 29, at 7 p.m. EST with some of North America’s top female hockey professionals.

Players Natalie Spooner, Sarah Nurse and Loren Gabel will join host Rae Kelly, of Virgin Radio’s popular Cash & Rae morning show, to chat about females in sports, their inspiration, and the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association (PWHPA). The event will stream via Dixon’s Instagram platform @dixonsdistilledspirits and be available for viewing post-event.

“As a professional women’s hockey player and Olympian, you could say hockey is my life,” says national player Natalie Spooner. “I can never pass up the chance to talk about the sport I love! I’m happy to chat on the opportunity for women’s hockey in North America and just to connect with our fans.”

Attendees can ask questions of the players as well as post comments: those who participate will be entered into a draw for one of two $50 LCBO gift cards. A bonus entry can be earned if a participant shares their favourite spirit in the comments or tags a friend.

This is the first of two live Instagram events that Dixon’s will host as part of its 2021 sponsorship of the PWHPA. Jayna Hefford, Lead Operations Consultant at PWHPA, says “We all wish that we could be attending events in person, but we are still pleased to be able to get together (digitally) through sessions like this to help support the visibility of women’s hockey and the growth of a professional, sustainable league.”

Dixon’s Distilled Spirits was founded in 2013 and is known throughout Ontario for creating unique and award-winning gins, vodka and whisky using the highest-quality, locally-grown ingredients. Their hand-crafted, hand-bottled and 100% Canadian-made products are available at LCBOs and online.

“They inspire me and I want to help them inspire others,” says Vicky Dixon, co-owner of Dixon’s. “While we enjoy kicking back and enjoying the odd cocktail or fine whisky, we also recognize the importance of leading a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Our partnership with the PWHPA is our chance to demonstrate our brand’s commitment to this.”

Winners will be drawn from accumulated entries and notified on Jun. 5. Only those who are 19 years or older are eligible to win. Full contest rules are available at dixonsdistilledspirits.com/promotions.
