For the entire month of December 2023, Linamar Corporation committed to matching donations made to The Grove Hubs Wellington Guelph. The Grove Hubs asked the community for donations to provide integrated mental health, well-being, and life-skills services to youth across Guelph and Wellington County. As a result, $200,000 was raised, with Linamar matching, for a grand total of $400,000 in donations.

“We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this year's holiday fundraising campaign,” said Jeff Hoffman, interim executive director of The Grove Hubs Wellington Guelph. “The community rallied around this campaign, allowing for such a successful outcome. The donations made by community members, Linamar, and other supporting organizations will allow us to provide even more vital care needed to address the ongoing mental health crisis our local youth are facing.”

Significant donations were made by a number of individuals, local businesses and organizations over the holidays. The Rotary Club of Fergus Elora donated $25,000, Get in Touch for Hutch contributed $15,000, and Skyline Group of Companies made an in-kind donation valued at approximately $50,000. The Grove also received gifts from individuals across the community, including many monetary gifts and in-kind donations such as warm clothes, holiday gifts, and personal items.

“We are so thankful for Linamar’s support and leadership in helping us address youth mental health needs in our community,” said Hoffman. “Linamar is an ongoing supporter of The Grove Hubs, and we are incredibly grateful for their generosity and their recognition of The Grove as an important recipient of funding.”

The funds donated over the holidays will be used to further address the needs of youth in Guelph and Wellington County. Local public health data for Guelph and Wellington County shows that 1-in-5 youth in the region require mental health support. In 2023, The Grove Hubs received over 32,000 youth visits across its sites, providing support, resources, programming and mental health services to youth, providing an accessible solution to an ongoing problem.
