Fate of Kee brothers now in hands of jury

Jury deliberations will continue Tuesday after no verdict reached by 8 p.m. Monday.

Aidan and Angus Kee's immediate future is now in the hands of the 12-person jury at their trial.

Justice Gordon Lemon spent much of Monday giving his charge and final instructions to the jury and they entered deliberations at 2:50 p.m.

By 8 p.m. there was no verdict. Deliberations resume Tuesday.

If they haven't reached a verdict by 8 p.m. they will retire for the night and continue deliberations on Tuesday.

Much of what was read explained legal principles the jury must consider in determining a verdict for both Kee brothers.

This includes whether they'd believe the act that killed Nick Tanti was an accident, if it was done in self-defence or if the stabbing was done unlawfully.

Aidan is charged with second-degree murder. Angus is facing a charge of accessory after the fact murder.

There's also the possibility Aidan could be found guilty of manslaughter in the case.
