Female riders gather in Fergus to celebrate (12 photos)

International Female Ride Day happens on the first Saturday in May each year

FERGUS - Roughly 750 female motorcycle riders were expected to arrive throughout Saturday as part of the International Female Ride Day celebrations.

The event, held on the first Saturday in May, celebrated female riders around the world.

Organizers in Fergus said they had 500 people attend last year's event and expected to almost double that this year.

The day drew riders from across southern Ontaro for a day of riding, food trucks, over 20 vendors and, most of all, friendship.

The afternoon culminated in a group photo.
