On March 13, 2018, at approximately 19:25, the Guelph Fire Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a structure fire at 34 Tovell Drive.

Arriving at the scene, firefighters found thick black smoke coming from the structure. All occupants of the structure had self-evacuated upon arrival.

Firefighters performed an aggressive interior attack on the fire by two fire attack crews. Crews were pushed outside of the structure by extreme heat and continued to apply water. Also, an aerial device was used to bring the fire under control and subsequently extinguished.

Crews will remain on scene throughout the night checking for fire extension and scene safety.
