The first of four free community skating events – provided by the owners of Kirtida Kitchen as a way to give back to residents – is set for this Sunday afternoon at the West End Community Centre.
It’s set to begin at 2 p.m. and run until 3:15 p.m. To register in advance, visit www.recenroll.ca.
In an email to GuelphToday, Kirtida and Hitesh Jagad said the Eramosa Road restaurant wouldn’t have survived during lockdowns if it weren’t for the support of locals.
“It’s our way to say thank you to the community for their love and support to our small business,” they wrote.
The plan is to sponsor a free community skating session once per month until February, the email notes. Additional sessions are set for Dec. 18 (Victoria Road Recreation Centre), Jan. 15 (West End) and Feb. 12 (Victoria Road).
This is the second year in a row Kirtida Kitchen has been behind a series of free community skating events.
