Gardening Fundamentals is a series of courses designed for both the beginner and experienced gardener. The course is offered by The Arboretum on Mondays between April 22 and May 27, 2019 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Course material covers basic information to provide a good grounding and then goes on to introduce advanced topics that are normally not found in gardening books. The presenter has over 35 years of gardening experience, most of it in the Guelph area.

Each course is approximately 2.5 hours in length and is designed to be independent of each other allowing participants to take only the courses that are of interest to them. The full set of six courses will give participants a very solid understanding of Gardening Fundamentals.

At the end of the courses they will be able to plant and maintain the best garden on their block. Participants will also have an opportunity to have all of their gardening questions answered by local Master Gardeners.

Topics include soil, vegetables, perennials, trees and shrubs, bulbs and ornamental grasses and pests and garden myths. A description of what is covered for each topic can be found online.

Guest Instructor, Robert Pavlis will lead this workshop at The Arboretum. The early bird registration fee is $75 plus HST for all six courses if you register on-line prior to April 14, 2019. To attend just one course the fee at the door is $18 including tax per course.

For more information, call The Arboretum at 824-4120 extension 52358. Registration is online under “Workshops”.
