A $3 million investment for Guelph to improve on transit initiatives.
The province’s annual gas tax funding allotment was announced Friday afternoon, with nearly $380 million heading to 102 municipalities across Ontario.
Guelph’s share of the fund is $3,013,445.
This money can only be used to cover expenses and improve transit in the city. This can mean extending hours, increasing routes, purchasing new vehicles, upgrading infrastructure and improving accessibility.
The money is dependent on how many litres of gas is sold in the previous year.
Guelph’s funding is slightly lower than what it got last year ($3,182,566).
