Guelph Len's Mill will be moving its store to Woodlawn Road after operating the popular craft, fabric and sewing store for 20 years on Victoria Road.

On Thursday, the store will be setting up a pop-up tent outside their new location on 100 Woodlawn Rd. before they officially move into the Frederick's Furniture Gallery building.

Pete Menary, president of the company which has several Len’s Mills locations across Southern Ontario, said the new location isn’t quite ready to move into which is why he decided to put up a pop-up store in the parking lot.

The 7,200, square-foot tent will have all the core items of fabrics, yarns and fabric and is expected to run until October when the sale for the new store finalizes.

“It'll be a much better shopping experience for our customers in terms of a new layout and a fresh new store whereas our old one, we were there for 20 years and it was starting to be a little bit tired,” said Menary.

“This is going to be a brand new fresh start for the store in a much better location.”

Menary said Frederick's Furniture Gallery is going to downsize its business allowing Guelph’s Len’s Mill to move in.

“He's still gonna occupy a store there and we'll have a store in the back part,” said Menary.

When the pandemic hit, Len’s Mill was quick to step up to provide thousands of kits that included face masks, gowns and surgery caps and could be used for residents in long term care homes and by medical workers in hospitals.
