Guelph is graced by the ‘Book Angel” again this holiday season to help donate to the Books for Kids Campaign.

For a number of years the anonymous donor has purchased hundreds of books from The Bookshelf for the campaign.

In previous years the donor purchased $6,000 worth of books. The Bookshelf assists the donor to choose a variety of children's books for the donation. They also offer a discounted rate so more books can be donated.

Bookshelf co-owner Ben Minett said his son's teacher says the best thing to do is read 20 to 30 minutes a night.

Although many children’s books were purchased, The Bookshelf has enough supply of children’s books in time for the holiday season.

GuelphToday will be collecting new books in support of Salvation Army Christmas hamper program during a Guelph Storm home game at the Sleeman Centre Friday night.

Guelph Storm plays against Owen Sound Attack on Friday.

Books go to children and families in need.
