Guelph's new Farm Boy location announces opening date

The much-anticipated opening will happen on March 3

After months of speculation on an opening date, Farm Boy has announced it will open its first and only Guelph location on March 3.

Previously, Farm Boy's website had only listed the anticipated opening date as Spring 2022.

Now, however, the website and Farm Boy communications team say the location will be opening exactly two weeks from the announced date.

The store, which will be the chain's 43rd location, will span 25,276 square feet and employ 113 people.

Occupying the location of the former Staples store at 370 Stone Rd. W., the Farm Boy timber-style edifice has been erected.

Recently, a new sign appeared along Stone Road West canvassing for applications to the new location, starting some community chatter into the idea the store would be opening soon.

Previously, the closest Farm Boy locations were Waterloo and Cambridge.

The opening of the Guelph location brings a Farm Boy into every city within the tri-city.

All locations feature hot to-go foods and they have their own line of products.
