Two local businesses, Ferox Creations and BlueLine Wood, have brought back their holiday market for a second year in support of the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington. Hosted by Ferox Creations owner Amanda Kavchak, interim director of Marketing and Community Engagement at the Children’s Foundation, alongside BlueLine Wood owner Jay Hall, who is a proud board member at the Children’s Foundation, these two have worked to put together an incredible group of vendors with the goal of raising funds to help meet the growing need in our community.
“Working at the Children’s Foundation I have firsthand seen the need in our community continue to climb,” says Amanda Kavchak. “As a small business owner, I have made so many other connections locally, and know that supporting local is incredibly important. We had such a great time hosting the market last year, and thought it was a win-win to bring it back again. We can raise funds for the community, and support local small businesses at the same time!”
This year the market will feature 31 local vendors ranging from handmade goods and gifts such as mugs, charcuterie boards and candles, to locally made treats, and more. Lady Glaze Doughnuts will also be at the event with their mobile food truck. With the warehouse space generously donated from building owners Wood Development Group and tenants, The SEED, all proceeds from the event will be donated to the Foundation.
“We love seeing collaborations of local businesses coming together to support our community!” says Emma Rogers, CEO of the Children’s Foundation. “With the incredible support of longterm partners Wood Development Group and The SEED, along with our team members, we’re excited to see the impact that this market has on the growing need in our community.”
