Home sales down in July from last year's 'astronomical record': CREA

Price of home sales went up

According to the Guelph and District Association of Realtors, home sales have decreased sharply from July 2020.

CREA reports a decrease of 22.5 per cent compared to last year.

The number of new listings also declined.

The average price of homes sold went up y 21.9 per cent from the year previous.

In July 2021:

  • 442 residential units were sold
  • $859,049 was the average price of homes sold
  • 489 new residential listings were posted

To compare, in July 2020:

  • 571 residential units were sold
  • $711,285 was the average price of homes sold
  • 580 residential listings were posted

In June 2021:

  • 563 residential units were sold
  • $859,694 was the average price of homes sold
  • 719 new residential listings were posted

To compare, in June 2020:

  • 345 residential units were sold
  • $666,962 was the average price of homes sold
  • 448 residential listings were posted
