Home sales rebound in May, but still down

A decline of 43.9 per cent from May 2019 marked the lowest May reading in over 20 years

The Guelph and District Association of Realtors reports that home sales were up in May after a slowing of home sales in April.

There were a total of 211 residential unit sales in the month of May 2020. This marks an increase of 115 home sales from April 2020.

April 2020 saw record lows, and May marked a rebound, according to the Guelph & District Association of REALTORS.

However, the decline of new residential listings in May 2020 was the lowest level for the month in more than three decades.

In May 2020:

  • 211 residential units were sold
  • $607,902 was the average price of homes sold
  • 316 residential listings were posted

In April 2020:

  • 96 residential units were sold
  • $582,563 was the average price of homes sold
  • 196 new residential listings were posted

To compare, in May 2019:

  •  159 residential units were sold
  •  $544,139.90 was the average price of homes sold
  •  448 new residential listings were posted
