NEWS RELEASE
GUELPH PUBLIC LIBRARY
*************************
Did you know your library card is your passport to adventure this summer? Join the Guelph Public Library’s Summer Reading programs for all ages. You can join at any time starting Tuesday, June 15 and it’s easy to participate – just read anytime, anywhere!

Whether you read on a device, listen to audiobooks or enjoy reading upside down, be sure to record your summer reading activities for a chance to win some end of summer prizes.

There are four summer reading programs available: TD Summer Reading club for pre-readers (birth to 5 years) and readers (6 to 12 years), a teen summer reads bingo challenge (13 to 18 years) and an adult bingo contest (19 years or older).

How to play:

  1. Starting June 15, drop by any library location to pick up your summer reading club package. Then...

  2. For children, ages birth to 12 years, visit tdsummerreadingclub.ca to set up your online account for extra challenges and activities like battle of the books, weekly trivia questions, book reviews to collect badges and more. Tired of online activities? You can still participate by filling out a printed reading log each time you read for 20 minutes and then submit it to any location or by email to [email protected] by Sept. 6, 2021. Prize draws will be held in mid-September.

  3. For teens and adults, pick up your Bingo card at any location or download/print the teen or adult Bingo cards via the library’s website. Read books in any of the categories listed to earn a Bingo by completing a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line. Write the book titles you read on the back of the card. Drop off your Bingo card to any library location or snap a photo of your completed card and email it to [email protected] by Sept. 6, 2021. Prize draws will be held in mid-September. Note: You can enter as many times as you complete a BINGO and as many cards as you wish!

Challenge yourself to read something new this summer and experience the joy of reading for fun! Whether you are a long-time participant or new to our summer reading programs, you will find great resources at your library to help you create the best summer reading experience ever! Get Your Summer Read On!

If you have any questions about the summer reading programs, please email [email protected] or phone 519-824-6220.
