Grandmothers and Friends for Africa Third Annual Scrabble Party takes place on Saturday, March 5 at 2 pm at Holy Rosary Parish Hall.
All proceeds go to Grandmothers Campaign of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, a registered charity working to turn the tide of AIDS in 15 African countries.
Activities planned for the fun-filled afternoon include teams competing for the highest score in collaborative Scrabble, a silent auction, door prize draws, and homemade treats.
Why not make up a table with family and friends?
If you prefer not to play but want to contribute to this worthy cause, you can sponsor a player.
Drop-ins are welcome to bid on the silent auction items and enjoy a snack by donation.

Although the threat of AIDS has diminished in the developed world, in Africa millions still live with its scourge.
There are at least 12 million AIDS orphans in sub-Saharan Africa alone.
Grandmothers are central to the community there and some are raising 10 to 15 orphaned children.
No words can describe how hard that is!
Canadian grandmothers have raised an astonishing $21 million for African grandmothers through the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign.
Resources from the Campaign are invested directly at community level, with grassroots organizations.
They provide grandmothers and the children in their care with supports that include food, educational supplies, uniforms and school fees, medical care, HIV counselling and testing, adequate housing and bedding, counselling and support groups, home visits, and much more.
