A Guelph man faces weapons charges after being arrested Saturday on an outstanding warrant.
Approximately 1 p.m. Saturday, Guelph police spotted a man exiting a vehicle on Woolwich Street and recognized him as being wanted for failing to appear in court. The man was placed under arrest and a search of his property incident to arrest revealed a stun gun, which is a prohibited weapon. The man is bound by several court orders not to possess weapons.
A 38-year-old is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, four counts of possessing a weapon while prohibited, two counts of failing to comply with court orders and failing to appear in court. He was held for a bail hearing Monday.
