Police looking for witnesses to October incident

An alleged impaired driver was detained by several citizens after cutting off other vehicles

Guelph police are seeking witnesses to an impaired driving incident from last October.

Approximately 10:45 p.m. on Oct. 29, police were called to a disturbance outside a business at Woodlawn Road East and Victoria Road North. Investigation revealed a man was detained by several individuals and held for police after cutting off other vehicles.

A 35-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired driving, prohibited driving and breach of probation. He is next scheduled to appear in a Guelph court March 3, 2023.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the man's driving or the subsequent altercation before officers arrived, or who has video footage. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sergeant Trevor Byard at 519-824-1212, ext. 7210, or email [email protected].
