Weather advisory in effect for:

  • Guelph - Erin - Southern Wellington County
  • Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo
  • Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County

Winter weather travel advisory in effect for Monday due to heavy snow.

Hazards:
Snowfall amounts of 4 to 8 cm.
Significantly reduced visibilities in heavy snow.
Snowfall rates peaking up to 3 cm/hr.

Timing:
Beginning Monday afternoon.

Discussion:
Snow is expected to fall heavily. However, due to surface temperatures being above freezing, snowfall accumulations may be somewhat limited especially on road/walkway surfaces. The onset of precipitation may begin as rain before changing-over to wet snow. Areas under the heavier snowfall and/or higher terrain may locally see higher snowfall amounts.

Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
