Global news.

Game 4 of the NBA Finals will be shown live outside in Downtown Guelph on Friday.

Mayor Cam Guthrie took to Twitter Monday evening to announce that the game between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors would be shown on the big screen in Market Square outside Guelph City Hall.

"I am pleased to announce, that indeed Market Square here in front of city hall will turn into Raptors Square this coming Friday for Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors," the mayor said.

"The whole street will be shut down, it's going to be a great atmosphere."

The game is being played at Golden State. Tip off is set for 9 p.m.

The mayor announced late last week that the city was looking for a corporate partner to help cover the cost of showing a game or games outdoors. No word on if or who that partner is.
