Spend the afternoon eating and learning about food for free next Tuesday at the University of Guelph’s early Food Day Canada event.
Held at the Arboretum, it will feature a local chef cook-off, live music, a marketplace and activities. There will also be exhibits showcasing food-related research at the university.
Kirtida Kitchen, Platters Catering and Events and Private Chef will battle it out in the cook-off. If you register in advance, you'll get to taste sample dishes from each chef, and get a free scoop from Four All Ice Cream.
The marketplace will include items from the Guelph Honey Bee Research Centre, the Guelph Centre for Urban Organic Farming, Happy Era, The Seed, and more.
Gryph N’ Grille Food Truck will be serving up burgers and fries.
Music will be provided by CJ Cooper and CFRU 93.3 FM.
Picnic blankets and reusable water bottles are encouraged.
The event runs from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. You can learn more or register here.
