Showers and thunderstorms expected in the area this morning could bring with them 20 to 50 mm of rain to parts of the region..
The potentially heavy rainfall has led to a special weather statement being issued by Environment Canada.
Among the areas included in the statement are:
- Guelph - Erin - Southern Wellington County
- Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo
- Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County
