The Guelph Storm injury list just keeps getting longer.

Defenceman Zack Sandhu is expected to miss four to five weeks with an upper body injury, said general manager George Burnett.

Sandhu was hurt during a fight a week ago in Kitchener. He has already missed three games.

The Toronto native has three goals and two assists in 26 games with the Storm this season and has established himself as a very steady defensive presence.

He becomes the third Storm regular defenceman out of the lineup for an extended period due to injury. Rookie Quinn Beauchesne (broken wrist) will miss several more weeks and Cam Allen has been out all season recovering from off-season shoulder surgery.

Burnett said the target return date for Allen is Feb. 1. He has been progressing well practicing with the team but with no contact. He has a mid-January appointment with the surgeon that operated on his shoulder and if all goes well he will likely be cleared for contact.

Emergency call-up Adam Shellinglaw will remain with the Storm until the holiday break.

They play in Owen Sound Wednesday, Friday at home against Peterborough and Saturday afternoon at home against Sault Ste. Marie before breaking until Dec. 28 when they host Erie.
