The OUA basketball regular season kicked off Wednesday night at the University of Guelph Athletic Centre as the Gryphons hosted the Western Mustangs.
The Gryphon women, led by 17 points from Burke Bechard, crushed the Mustangs 70-40.
The Gryphon men, led by 22 points from Tommy Yanchus, fell 87-77.
Guelph plays at Brock on Saturday. Next home game is Nov. 16.
