Guelph Open Karate Tournament attracts all ages (10 photos)

Form, weapons and sparring events all part of fundraiser

The 2019 Guelph Open Karate Tournamnet attracted roughly 175 competitors on Saturday to the Centennial CVI gym, starting at age 4 and up to some senior competitors.

It is the seventh consecutive year for the event, which is hosted by Tri City Training and is also a fundraiser for the Guelph Wish Fund For Childre, who benefit from proceeds from the event plus a large silent auction held during the day.

Competitors compete in Kata (karate form demonstration), kumite (point sparring) and kobudo (weapons forms).
