LONDON – The London Knights scored late in the third period to tie the game then won it in the shootout, downing the Guelph Storm 4-3 Wednesday night at Budweiser Gardens.

Antonio Stranges and Logan Mailloux both beat Owen Bennett in the shootout while Danny Zhilkin and Sasha Pastujov couldn't score on London goaltender Brett Brochu.

Zhilkin had given Guelph a 3-2 lead early in the third period with his 16th goal of the season, but Stranges took advantage of a Guelph turnover to tie the game with 3:33 left in regulation.

Overtime settled nothing, although Zhilkin almost ended it at the buzzer when he broke in alone on Brochu, but was stopped.

Jake Karabela and Valentin Zhugin had Guelph's other goals.

The Storm hosts the Owen Sound Attack on Friday night and the Flint Firebirds Sunday at 4 p.m.
