Guelph Storm general manager George Burnett announced today that 2022 fifth round selection Leo Serlin has signed an OHL scholarship and development agreement with the hockey club, the Storm said in a news release.

The 6’0, 185 lbs forward from Toronto was selected by the Storm 102nd overall in last year’s OHL Priority Selection.

“Leo had an excellent training camp and has shown considerable improvement in all areas of his game,” said Burnett. “He has earned the opportunity to be apart of this program.”

In his OHL draft year, the 2006-born winger was a major contributor to the Toronto Marlies U16 AAA squad - recording 22 goals, 26 assists for 48 points in 45 games.

This past season, Serlin suited up for 49 games with the OJHL’s Haliburton Huskies where he notched 10 goals and 13 assists for 29 points and 46 PIMs.

“I couldn’t be more excited about this amazing opportunity to play for such an incredible organization,” said Serlin. “I know we have a very talented group of players and I can’t wait to be apart of a successful season. Thank you to the coaching staff, management and ownership group for believing in me.”
