Update: The Guelph Storm has issued the following statement: "Tonight's game has been cancelled. In order to satisfy all parties involved, including the OHL, municipalities and the government there just wasn't sufficient enough time for the game tonight. We will be pushing ahead with the rest of our schedule."

The Ontario Hockey League will move ahead with games despite not being allowed to have any fans in attendance for at least the next three weeks

The league issued a statement late Wednesday morning:

"The Ontario Hockey League Board of Governors conducted a meeting this morning to address next steps in light of the recent order issued by the Government of Ontario taking effect today, Wednesday, January 5.

The League has reaffirmed its commitment to continue the 2021-22 OHL season.

The OHL is currently in conversation with government and public health and will have further updates in this area in the very near future."

The Guelph Storm will host the Windsor Spitfires Wednesday night at the Sleeman Centre in a game that will be broadcast on CJOY radio and Rogers television.

Guelph is also scheduled to host the Owen Sound Attack on Friday, although the Attack are currently waiting to clear COVID protocols.
