SAGINAW – The Saginaw Spirit scored three times on the power play to skate away with a 5-2 win over the Guelph Storm Saturday night at the Dow Event Centre.

It was a 3-2 game heading into the third period, but power play goals by Rodwin Dionicio and Hunter Haight sealed the win for the Spirit.

Both Guelph goals also came on the power play, courtesy of Braeden Bowman and Jake Karabela, but the Storm struggled to create much offence at even strength. They were outshot 37-19 on the night.

Brayden Gillespie went all the way in net for the Storm.

Guelph hosts the Kitchener Rangers Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and then Flint on Friday.
